Crew Leader Program

Course Description

Our Crew Leader Program has been designed by experienced BC Wildland Firefighters and is taught by qualified instructors.  This program is intended for experienced Firefighters looking to advance into Crew Leader roles, and required prerequisites are listed below.  Additional outcomes from this training include a competitive advantage when applying for jobs, higher pay rates, higher standards of training and safety, establishing industry connections and high quality training experience consolidated into one concise program.

Program 40 hours (4 days) of classroom component and field exercises

Prerequisites

  1. S-100 Basic Fire Suppression

  2. S-185 Fire Entrapment and Avoidance

  3. ICS 100 Introduction to Incident Command Systems

  4. Occupational First Aid level 1 & Transport Endorsement (or equivalent)

  5. 250 hours of documented wildland firefighting experience
