Course Description

This 2 day course for limited experience saw operators focuses on effective bucking technique, safe chainsaw operation, and maintenance basics.  Participants will spend equal time in the classroom and field, allowing people to brush up on existing skills and receive Certification.  Participants will have to demonstrate safe and effective bucking while supervised by the instructors. This training is recommended for those working in silviculture, wildland firefighting, and forest operations, and adheres to CSA Z62.1-15 (R2020) standards for safe chainsaw operations.

NOTE: This course does not qualify operators to fall trees or buck on steep slopes, further training is required for such activities.
